It's no secret that BMW turbo engines can suffer from oil control issues that cause oil to blow through and coat the intercooler and charge pipes, clog intake valves and the VANOS system, reduce effective octane and generally degrade engine performance. The higher your boost levels, the more obvious these issues become.
The solution to this problem is finally here. The BMS Oil Catch Can.
While there are other catch cans on the market, they fall short in several areas. Some are mounted on the hot/turbo side of the engine and prevent proper vapor condensation. Others use hoses that are too small and have too long run times to allow proper PCV ventilation, causing internal engine/ring sealing issues. Some have no or inadequate internal baffle system while others have internal baffle systems that are too restrictive. Some even bypass the PCV system and vent the crankcase gas and odor to the atmosphere. Most are simply repackaged oil catch cans from smaller/lower performance engines fitted with a shoe that is inserted into the turbo BMW engine bay. To solve these problems, BMS designed their oil separator kit from the ground up specifically for the turbo BMW application. It features 100% CNC machining with no welding for a precise fit and long life. The can itself is guaranteed for the life of the vehicle. The tubing exceeds the diameter of the OEM PCV piping and the flow is kept constant throughout the oil catch, eliminating excessive crankcase pressure buildup. The BMS OCC maintains the factory fully enclosed PCV operation so no PCV vapor can escape to the atmosphere. Mounting locations are chosen to minimize line length, allow for more efficient operation, and maintain a stealthy look.
Installation takes approximately 20 minutes, includes all needed hardware, and is 100% reversible. Simply unscrew the bottom of the reservoir or use the drain plug to safely dispose of the captured oil along with the rest of your used engine oil during an oil change. Made in the USA.
