The E-series N54 and N55 engines are no strangers to oil cooling problems, that's why we developed the MSL Oil Cooler Kits. The higher capacity oil cooler ensures that E-series models equipped with N54 and N55 engines stay cool, even during heated conditions. We strongly advise combining the cooler kit with the MSL Oil Thermostat.
The single cooler kit replaces the OEM cooler on the right side of the car and comes with a Setrab 19-row oil cooler, a stainless MSL bracket, a Oil Adapter AN8, and a hose kit. The MSL Oil Thermostat has to be ordered separately.
Optionally, you can also add the MSL Twin Oil Cooler Extension Kit with a second cooler to be placed on the left side of the car! This kit will come with a second Setrab 19 row oil cooler, stainless Mosselman bracket, Oil adapter AN8, a Mounting bracket and extra hoses. The twin setup is recommended for cars in a warm climate and cars that will be used on a track.
Note: This item is not "plug and play". You will need to make some adjustments to the car to fit the bigger oil cooler and bracket. Installation time is approximately 3 hours.
If you choose the extension kit you will some additional OEM products: il cooler front air duct (left), wheel arch air duct (left), inside wheel arch for the auxiliary cooler (left). With the extension kit, the installation time is approximately 4 hours.
Installing the twin oil cooler kit on a BMW 1M requires some extra modifications to make the left oil cooler fit into the car. The 1M is equipped with an auxiliary water cooler on the left side of the car. This is the place where the second oil cooler needs to be installed. To make this fit the auxiliary watercooler has to be removed and probably a bigger radiator has to be installed. It will add extra time to the installation process.
